Best Opening Parties For Ibiza 2013

Let The Party Begin!
As I pack the suitcases for my annual Ibiza sojourn in the sun, the Ibiza Opening parties are about as exciting this year, as they have ever been. This is mainly due to a vibrant, fresh and competitive club scene that is bursting as the seams with new nights, concepts and parties. This season will be remembered for the amount of creativity that has gone into making Ibiza 2013 one of the most promising and anticipated years ever. The Journalists who wrote the New York Times article singing the praises of Las Vegas, will be kicking themselves for such bad timing as Ibiza is set to explode this year.....nowhere else comes close. The unique and special Ibiza experience cannot be bottled and sold outside the Island, you have to be there and become part of it, as its the people who make it special. Everybody is equal and prejudices are left at the door. There is so much to do and see next week and certain parties that I will have to miss, but below are my current plans for the week.


Wednesday May 22nd. Wisdom Of The Glove Opening Party @ Pacha.
Guy Gerber will have the honour of launching Pacha’s new direction this 2013 season. Breaking new ground, the team at Pacha have bravely put together, a musical program of change and innovation. Leading the way, will be Guy Gerber's Wisdom Of The Glove Party, which is sure to attract a big crowd to witness the rise of a new, deep tech dawn at the iconic cherry branded Ibicenco club. Thursday May 23rd. Sankeys Opening Party.
After the success of last season, the Sankeys team are fit, fresh and chomping at the bit, to take on  the Ibiza 2013 summer season. With a summer schedule that looks trained to perfection, David Vincent and his team have signed some exciting new nights this season. To give a flavour of its season ahead, Steve Lawler and rising star Finnebassen are the headliners on Part 1 of its two day Opening Party event. The Diynamic crew of Solomun, H.o.s.h and David August are a mouth watering prospect for lovers of underground tech house, on day 2, along with the exciting Enzo Siragusa. Tickets on sale here.

Friday May 24th. Insane Opening Party @ Pacha.
Once again the place to be next Friday night, is at Pacha, as it unveils its second brand new party. Insane is billed as a pure Funky House party with John Digweed, DJ Sneak, Derrick Carter and Uner, ready to user in a new era at the club. A night not to be missed, it represents a new wave of music that is rising to the surface of Ibiza waters. Tickets for Insane are on sale now. Saturday May 24th. Ushuaia Opening Party.
What a way to kick off a monster weekend. Luciano, Sven Vath, Joris Voorn and Loco Dice, are the stars of an outdoor pool party by the beach,  that is sure to take off faster than Usain Bolt. Ushuaia have made no secret of the fact that they intend Ushuaia to be the place where its at this season in Ibiza and they will be pulling out all the stops to ensure a great start to the season. Expect fireworks, a banging atmosphere and most importantly, waves of electronic bliss emanating from  the open air stage. Buy your tickets here for a party that is well worth the admittance fee. After Ushuaia, Pacha is the place to be for the launch of its third brand new party Epica. A pure Saturday night, hands in the air, clubbing experience. Chuckie, John Dahlback, Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike, will ensure a party of pure pleasure and fun. Tickets available here

Sunday May 25th. Space Opening Party.
The Daddy of all Opening Parties and the traditional cornerstone of the Opening party week in Ibiza. No Carl Cox this year but instead we have over 40 artists appearing in six different rooms as well as the outdoor flight area. Announced today,The Chemical Brothers, Mark Knight, David Moreno, Bokka Shade, Sasha, 2Many Dj’s and Funkagenda, will be joining names such as Pete Tong, Roger Sanchez, Groove Armada, Felix De Housecat and Bushwacka. It’s a party where everybody wants to be, the Space Opening Fiesta. Tickets on sale now. Also opening on the Sunday, is Solomon's new Solomon+1 concept. Two DJ’s all night, back to back and well worth taking a break from Space to sample. For the Opening party, Solomon will be joined by the excellent Ame. Monday May 26th. DC10 Opening
There can only really be one place to go for any underground music fan on the Monday and its the DC10 opening party. Alongside Space, its now an institution on the Island of Ibiza. Can get messy and a little overcrowded but its still the place to go after the Space or Solomun party on the Sunday night. Doors open at 4.30pm and a lot is expected from DC10 this year as it need to raise its game to keep the ever gaining Sankeys at bay, for the title of the islands best underground venue. The Epica Opening party at Pacha may help the "tourist crowd" thin out a little, as Bob Sinclar is headlining at 3am.
