Tallyn Planells Garcia, the manager of Privilege, has left the San Rafel club to join Pacha, after the sudden departure of Danny Whittle last September. Tallyn announced news of his new job on Facebook yesterday evening; "After some intense and stimulating years with Privilege, time has come to start another professional stage. Thank you for this fantastic stage Privilege. Hello Pacha". Tallyn is an Ibicenco, raised on the Island and attending school at the Santa Maria Institute in Ibiza town. The Planells surname is a traditional, local family name in Ibiza. He is married to Susana and the couple have a son named Leo (1). One of the most popular young Club Managers in Ibiza, Tallyn's departure to Pacha, was a mutually agreeable move between both clubs.
It marks a significant milestone in the history of the much admired Pacha Club, after the acrimonious split between Danny Whittle and Pacha owner Ricardo Urgell last month. In a recent interview with dmcworld magazine Whittle publicly criticised Urgell for his lack of business acumen and dislike for Dj's and Electronic music. Rumours on the Island suggest that Urgell, had become wary of Whittles increasing power and direction within the Pacha group, and wanted him to leave. Danny Whittle is being connected to various new jobs, including the new Ushuaia Tower venture, but it is more likely that he will open his own club or project. The appointment by Urgel of Tallyn Planells, will ensure that Pacha will now reflect more of an organic and local direction in the future, with a return to an emphasis on the Mediterranean party atmosphere, rather than the Dj's. The Blog would like to take this opportunity to wish Tallyn all the very best of luck with his new job and we look forward to his fresh and new vision, for the much loved Ibiza Club.
