Ibiza Gains In Popularity as Jet 2 Announce Extra Ibiza 2016 Flights.

With the recent demise of the Aer Lingus, Dublin to Ibiza route, Leeds based low cost airline carrier, Jet 2, has announced extra flights into Ibiza from its UK airports this summer underlining the islands popularity with the British market. Over forty additional flights will be added to its Ibiza schedule with extensions of the popular route running right up to October 23. Ibiza is set for one of its busiest seasons this summer, as the value of the euro combined with social unrest in holiday destinations like Turkey and Egypt, has seen a big increase in advance bookings for the popular Balearic island. Already Amnesia has moved its opening party to May 14 on foot of strong hotel bookings for the month of May and Sankeys is set to open at the start of what is still considered a shoulder month in the industry.

While some on the island have long campaigned for an extension of the summer tourist season, the local governments position was always to let any potential market grow organically via external demand - a sit back and let it come to you attitude, typical of the local culture. Offer a value product and the tourists will come. San Antonio is already transforming itself into a young and vibrant resort offering an above average product which combines a mix of affordable value, with quality. Jet 2 will operate extra new flights out of Belfast, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle and East Midlands airports, so good news for Ibiza fans. The airline has reported that over 50% of its packages and flights have been already booked by the start of March, supporting the trend that this Ibiza season is going to be a big one. Our advice is to book your flights and accommodation early, as the blog is noticing Hotels with sold out signs already up for certain months and a big shortage of accommodation on the island this summer.
