Club 27 Concept For Space Ibiza In Final Year.

The iconic and much loved Ibiza Club Space, has revealed its concept for the last year of its life under the management of Pepe Rosello and his team. Entitled "The Club Of 27" Space will join some famous artists who died before their time at the age of 27. In a poster publicising the concept, lamented artists such as Amy Winehouse, Kurt Cobain and Jimi Hendrix are featured to signify life's that burned brightly but died too young. Space was the child of San Antonio businessman Pepe Rosello, who built the old conference center building into a World famous brand within electronic music and dance culture. It epitomised the free spirit of Ibiza and its legendary terrace sessions which began at sunrise in its early years, would continue all through the day and end up down on Playa den Bossa beach. DJ's such as Carl Cox, Anthony Bryans and Brandon Block were just some of the people responsible for creating the freestyle music that flowed from Space. In recent years, the landlord of the property, the powerful Matutes Group who own or control much of the island, indicated that they would end the lease with Mr Rosello and open their own club at the venue. The decision was met with much dissatisfaction by the local Ibicenco community and dance aficionados worldwide. The area that was once a family friendly free spirit, is now a cold and corporate entity with no soul. Huge crowds are expected to descend on Space this summer as fans from far and wide will wake and celebrate what the club stood for. Similar to the Hacienda closing in Manchester, Space Ibiza will define the end of a golden era in dance music culture.
