Ibiza Legend and Perfecto Records founder Paul Oakenfold, is set to play two nights at the Worlds Biggest Club Privilege, on Monday the 20th and 27th of August. Oakenfold will appear at Armin Van Burrens State Of Trance party, which opens next Monday for a fourteen week residency. Both Van Burren and Cosmic Gate will be present to welcome one of most influential and pioneering artists in modern day dance music.
It was Oakenfold alongside friends Danny Rampling, Trevor Fung, Nick Holloway, Johnny Walker and Ian Saint Paul, that travelled to Ibiza in 1987 to witness the introduction of the drug Ecstasy into dance music culture. That experience, combined with the fresh new sound that iconic Amnesia DJ Alfredo was playing at the time, was the spark that ignited the acid house revolution in England. Oakenfold returned to London after the Ibiza Holiday and launched the Spectrum party at the Heaven nightclub in Charing Cross and the rest is now dance music history. Oakenfolds residency at Cream in Liverpool and his opening of the Ministry Of Sound, made him a household name and brought dance music to a new audience.
