In what was a race against time, San Antonios brand new daytime club, Ocean Club Ibiza, will make the deadline of its Grand Opening Party of Thursday 28th of June, with only hours to spare. In true Phileas Fogg, Around the World in 80 days style, management and staff at the new venue have succeeded in pulling off a feat of engineering that many people, including yours truly, said could not be done. At the start of May, the site resembled little more that a giant hole in the ground but somehow the team, which includes Wayne Lineker of Linekers Bar and Tony Truman of BoHo, managed to achieve its goal. Below is some information from the official press release of the new venture. "From midday on Thursday 28th then, the doors of San Antonio’s most exciting new venue are to be open to the public for the very first time, with an opening event that not only has a worthy list of DJs on its line up but also, a host of audio visual treats, LED light shows, a supreme Void speaker system, live performance and believe us, quite a number of very special surprises.And of course, thanks to its stellar location,Ocean Beach Clubpromises the perfect spot from which to watch the spectacular sunset at the end of what is sure to be a momentous day in the history of San Antonio. Providing the soundtrack to the Opening proceedings, a carefully selected list of some of most respected names on the island’s electronic scene. Stepping up to the plate(s) throughout the course of the twelve hour celebration, Jo Mills, Antz, Tom Novy, Paul Lomax, Ben Santiago, Claudia Lovisa, Lorenzo Al Dino,Marie Claire, Kellie Acreman, Mo Funk and Mr Doris, all playing their part in making this a party to remember. As far as the live elements are concerned, bring on Shovell on percussion and the Fetish Sisters presumably doing what it says on the tin."
